EXCLUSIVE: Asha Parekh - Depression can take you into a black hole, so it is terrible
On World Health Day, Asha Parekh opens up about facing depression.
Veteran actress Asha Parekh had opened up on depression few months back. The actress has been vocal about it in her book The Hit Girl too. When we met the actress for an interview, we quizzed her for it.
Revealed Asha, "That was a low period of my life, I had lost my parents. Suddenly, there was a void and there was nobody around me. I was all alone and had to cope up with everything. I had to run the house, which I had never done in my life, and also had to look after the accounts. Looking at the other things. It was a little too much for me and hence I just had a break down. But my doctor friends got me out of it."
Given that visiting a psychiatrist and talking about depression is considered a taboo, probe her if it was difficult for her to cope up and the gorgeous actress disagrees. She says, "No it wasn't tough. In fact, I wanted to be open about it and I wanted to get cured. I didn't want to go more deep into it. Today's children are into a depression and they don't talk about it. They don't go to the doctors and this is not a good thing because you lose a life. Depression can take you into a black hole, so it is terrible."
Meanwhile, Asha Parekh's book The Hit Girl is all set to release on April 10, 2017. Superstar Salman Khan will be unveiling the book at a grand event in Mumbai. Salman ha also written a foreword for the book, which made its way to the web two days back.
