EXCLUSIVE: Sonakshi Sinha VS Armaan Malik- Vishal Dadlani reacts to the controversy
Vishal Dadlani reacts to the ongoing actors VS singers debate spearheaded by Sonakshi Sinha and Armaan Malik.
Sonakshi Sinha and singer Armaan Malik engaged in some stingy war of words on Twitter a few days back. This all started after Armaan co-quoted a tweet expressing his annoyance over Sona's participation in the forthcoming Justin Beiber concert to take place in Mumbai.
Reacting, sharply to this Sona called out Armaan saying, "And this is definitely not the same tune you were singing when you wanted me to sing for you."
This spat literally divided the industry into two. While many resonated with Armaan's view, rest supported Sona saying artists must not be limited and must always strive hard to broaden their horizons. The latest to join this debate is ace singer Vishal Dadlani.
When we contacted Vishal for his reaction to the debate, he reiterated that it is the duty of every artist to break boundaries."Actors can sing just as well as singers can act. In fact, it's the duty of every artist to break boundaries and expand their creative horizons. To be stuck within a single definition would be incredibly boring," said the singer.
Earlier, Sona Mohapatra also tweeted to Sinha slamming Sinha for her tweets. "Let's start with some commitment to 'craft' & 'technique' to start with? ART is a big word to throw around here in my 'artistic' opinion. Such a slap on the face of music, audiences, fans of music, performing artists, live music, musicians & also on India. Integrity be damned. Showing no care for true musicians life time of commitment & cutting the line to pursue your entitled 'dream' be okay dear Sonakshi? C'mon," wrote Sona Mohapatra.
However, the debate took an ugly turn when Sonakshi apparently blocked Sona on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Sonakshi issued a statement later in the day that read, "Firstly, I am not performing at the Bieber concert. It was speculated because I was approached and carried forward by publications and portals even after I stated in various interviews that it's not happening. Secondly, I am an actor who loves music, who loves to perform and who loves to sing. And if anyone has a problem with that, in the wise words of baba Bieber himself... they can go "love" themselves. Over and out. - Sonakshi Sinha's statement on the Justin Bieber concert."
