EXCLUSIVE: Saif Ali Khan NOT approached for Kabir Khan's next as yet
Kabir Khan responds to rumours of him approaching Saif Ali Khan for his next directorial web series.
Kabir Khan is undoubtedly one of the most talented and versatile filmmakers we have in Bollywood. A documentary filmmaker by heart, Kabir recently announced his ambitious directorial project which will be based on Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army. The said project will be a web series and will see Kabir explore his favourite subjects like war, espionage, terrorism etc.
Earlier today, reports suggested that Kabir has apparently approached Saif Ali Khan for the same. Kabir and Saif had earlier worked together in Phantom.
The leading daily even quoted a source saying, "He [Kabir] has been wanting to make this subject for a long time. He has lived with this project for years as he discovered it during his days as the documentary maker. Saif and Kabir share an excellent rapport, and have been wanting to work together. The series is about the soldiers who worked for the INA more than about Bose. Kabir has discussed the idea with Saif and while he has shown interest, he is yet to sign on the dotted line for the project. But if he does, he will play a soldier from Bose’s troupe.”
When we got in touch with Kabir to confirm the reports, the ace filmmaker refuted it saying, "These are all just rumours." Going further when asked if he has approached anyone as yet for the movie, Kabir said, "Will do everything after the release of Tubelight."
On the work front, Kabir is currently geared up for the release of his upcoming movie Tubelight starring Salman Khan and Sohail Khan. Ever since the release of the trailer, fans cannot stop raving about it.
Tubelight is all set to release on June 23, 2017.
