Is Dilwale, HUM remake?

The editor thinks Dilwale is remake of "Hum" with love story twist of "Chalti Ka Naam Gadi". The Trailer shows the different shades of the King Khan, where on one end he plays the big brother to Varun Dhawan who considers SRK to be a very simple man but he actually moves around brandishing guns and firing shots from flying cars. Well it reminds us of Amitabh Bachhan from “HUM” movie where his brothers consider him very simple guy but in actual he is quite opposite of it.

On the other end he is seen romancing Kajol. Then there’s one particular dialogue exchanged between Kajol and SRk, which only goes on to prove that they had once parted their only to meet after 15 years. Oops! Its 15 years 4 months and 10 days, Sorry SRK. Adding to the twist there’s another dialogue at the end of trailer where SRK seems addressing Kajol in damn serious way “Dobara apna chehra mat dikhana, jaan le lunga”. It only conveys that Kajol had left him in the midway and they cross the paths only after 15 years, and now SRK is in complete hate with her as she betrayed him then. Plot seems to be lifted from old movie “Chalti ka naam gadi”. Whereas the old movie had three brothers this one has two. It is not the exact copy of story. It seems Rohit has moulded the story of Chalti ka naam gadi and painted the character of SRK similar to that of Amitabh Bachhan from HUM to fit his vision of filmmaking.

From the trailer it seems the story is an interesting alloy of “Chalti ka naam gadi” and “HUM”. Also you can witness Rohit shetty’s signature action and dozens of flying cars.

When it comes to Rohit Shetty films, Except for his few films, he mostly seems to be inspired from the old movies; he spices up them in his own way and serves them as new dish, like an old vine in a new bottle. (Singham: Remake of Tamil blockbuster “Singam” (2010), Golmaal Returns: Heavily based on Bollywood comedy "Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar” (1973), Bol Bachaan : Remake of “GOLMAL” (1979), Golmaal Fun unlimited: Storyline Inspired by Marathi play “Ghar- Ghar” & Malayalam comedy film “Kakkakuyil” (2001).
