Having wrapped up the shoot of Shah Rukh Khan and Sujoy Ghosh production, Bob Biswas, Abhishek Bachchan is all set to start shooting for a new film from February 22. Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that the actor will be off to Agra to commence shooting for the Dasvi, a political comedy, which marks the directorial debut of Tushar Jalota. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan and is said to be a beautiful story that highlights the importance of education in today’s society.
“All through the lockdown, Abhishek has been in constant touch with Tushar and Dinoo, to discuss this film and it’s finally all set to go on the floors from February 22. It’s a script close to Abhishek’s heart and he is looking forward to get into the tale that chronicles the journey of a politician,” revealed a source close to the development, adding further that being a film set against the backdrop of politics, Delhi and the areas around are the ideal shooting spot for the film.
“The title of the film is Dasvi, which indicates 10th grade, as Abhishek’s character is that of a SSC failed Chief Minister. The film is unlike anything made in Bollywood as the narrative is entangled with a lot of humour against the backdrop of politics,” the source added. Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur too are said to be a part of the film, however, their character details have been kept under wraps.
Apart from Dasvi and Bob Biswas, Abhishek also has Big Bull under his kitty, which is soon gearing up for a premiere on Hotstar. In the second half of this year, the actor reunites with his Dostana co-star, John Abraham on the official remake of Malayalam hit, Ayyappanum Koshiyum.
