EXCLUSIVE: Producer Prernaa Arora answers the speculations around the cast for Shahid Kapoor's Roshni
It was only recently that KriArj Entertainment had announced their next project starring Shahid Kapoor. The film has been tentatively titled Roshni and is expected to go on floors next year by January end or in the first week of February.
Recent reports suggested that Abhishek Bachchan, who walked out of JP Dutta's Paltan, will be playing a parallel lead in Roshni.
However, Prernaa Arora, KriArj Entertainment, while refuting the rumours said, "Firstly would like to clarify about the speculation doing the rounds of the media about our film, tentatively titled, Roshni, that presently we are at the stage of completing the script of the film and doing our prep work for the same. We have officially announced our collaboration with Shahid Kapoor as the main lead star of the film. Shree Narayan, Director of the film and I have not locked any other characters in the film yet. It's too early to speak on this now. When all our homework is done & as soon as we get ready, we would be pleased to share the details officially with the media."
When asked about reports of Katrina Kaif being approached for the movie, Prernaa clarified, "Shree as a director is still thinking. Katrina would be the right cast for the film. There could be chances that things might fall in place but nothing constructive has been done about that so far."
Talking about collaborating with Toilet Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh, Prernaa said, “We really enjoyed making TEPK together earlier & know that Shree Narayan Singh's sensibilities as a filmmaker have given us the confidence that we have another winner on our hands."
About her collaboration with Shahid, she added, "Shahid is one of the industry's finest actors and would completely do justice to the role. We are so excited to be collaborating with him on this one as the role is tailor-made for someone with his talent & caliber. Together, Shahid & Shree, will form a brilliant combo, a winner for us, for sure !!!."
