Pinkvilla was the first to reveal that after collaborating on Dostana in 2008, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan will finally reunite on the remake of Malayalam hit film, Ayyappanum Koshiyum, which featured Prithviraj and Biju Menon in lead. We also revealed that after contemplating on several subjects for a collaboration over the last decade, both John and Abhishek felt that this was the best for them to team up on, as it’s diametrically opposite to what they did in Dostana. And now, we have got another update on the dramatic thriller.

“John is on the verge of wrapping up Attack and right after that he will be juggling between Pathan and Ek Villain 2 in Mumbai. Both the schedules have been chalked out in tandem with each other and the timelines suggest that Pathan will be completed at max by the month of July. Right after completing Pathan, John will move onto the Ayyappanum Koshiyum remake. He is very excited about the film, since it’s unlike anything he has done before,” revealed a source close to the development.

Abhishek on the other hand is currently shooting for the Dinesh Vijan production, Dasvi, in Agra.  “After wrapping up Dasvi, Abhishek will gear up to promote his two releases, The Big Bull (gearing up for a direct to digital premiere this Summer) and the Shah Rukh Khan production, Bob Biswas, which is set for a theatrical release this summer. Once his commitments are completed by the month of June, will he move onto this battle of ego with John in Ayyappanum Koshiyum,” the source added.

While the director of the film too has been locked, we are trying to gather more concrete information on that before bringing it out in the media. John will next be seen in Mumbai Saga, which opens in cinema halls on March 19, and follow it up with the Satyameva Jayate sequel on Eid. It’s a jam-packed year for the actor with multiple releases and shoots, and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that 2021 will be the busiest year for JA. Stay tuned to know more on this film.
