Swati Semwal, who plays Sadashiv Rau's wife in Manikarnika has been approached for a 10-day reshoot of the film, to be directed by Kangana Ranaut. When Pinkvilla contacted Swati about the same, the actress shared, "I have been approached for dates between October 1 and October 10 but the production house has not told us about any changes, so we have not really decided. I have read about it only in the media.''

Swati Semwal, who has just begun her acting career, spells out three reasons for herself to be part of Manikarnika. She revealed, "There were three reasons for me to do the film. One was Kamal Jain, the second was Sonu Sood and the third was director Krrish whose work I have been following for a really long time. Two reasons out of the three are out. '' But will Swati consider the reshoot that has been asked by the producers of the film. On this Swati stated, "I really don't know about it right now.''

When asked if producer Kamal Jain called her to discuss the reshoot of the film, the actress said, "He hasn't called me. But I did the film because Kamal Jain insisted on me being part of the film and the contract was signed in my office.''

Rimi Sen was earlier considered for the same role. While Sonu has been saying that he has been shooting for Simmba and therefore could not do the patchwork, Kangana, on the other hand, has said that Sonu did not want to be directed by a woman director.

On the same, Swati pondered, "I have been reading about it but one does not really know what happened on the sets.  Both the actors are good in their own way.  Who knows who is right or wrong?  But for anyone to say that Sonu did not want to be directed by a woman is not true as he has been directed by Farah Khan in the past. I am also a female director and there is no issue at all these days. Most of them are happy that women are turning directors That is my personal experience.''

Meanwhile, Swati Semwal runs a writers lounge which provides free space for budding writers and helps them in pitching it to producers as well. Swati will take the final call on the role after a chat with producer Kamal Jain.

Sonu had shot for 45 days for the role and now we hear the role has been cut down to 5 to 10 days. It is now going to be essayed by Zeeshan Ayub in the place of Sonu.
