EXCLUSIVE: Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra to team up for Indra Kumar's next comedy
Indra Kumar's next - a social comedy - required a younger actor with an older male star and the filmmaker have locked Sidharth and Ajay for the respective roles. The two actors will be sharing screen for the first time in this project.
Sidharth Malhotra is visibly happy now. After Marjaavaan turned out to be a money spinner, making decent moolah at the box office, in its first week. We had recently told you guys exclusively that after Vikram Batra's biopic SherShaah, Sidharth is already in advanced talks with Indra Kumar for his next directorial - a comedy. Now, we can tell you that Sid has been locked for the project. "The paperwork has happened. It's a social comedy which leaves you with an important message about life. Sid will start shoot for the film sometime next year," says a source. But it's not just Sid. The source adds, "It requires another male star to be part of the project. It's an adaptation of a Danish film, that also needs an older actor."
Induji, as the filmmaker is popularly known in the industry, has taken the film to his good friend Ajay. "The director was discussing the project with Ajay and he really liked the concept. The film has a really meaningful plotline, that's relevant with today's society, but treated in a really funny manner, in trademark Indra Kumar style. He heard the story and asked him to develop it. Now, he has given his nod to the project. The superstar's team is currently locking his dates for the film. This will be the first time Sidharth and Ajay will be sharing screen space, but both the roles perfectly suit them. They plan to mount it on a lavish scale because there are several elements in the movie," informs our khabri.
Ajay has a few films lined up - he begins shoot for Maidan, followed by SS Rajamouli's RRR and wraps up his work on Bhuj. Sid, on the other hand, is also finalising another project - a family drama, but the comedy will be his immediate next after SherShaah.
