EXCLUSIVE: Ali Abbas Zafar on Tiger franchise: The idea has been locked and Salman and I are very excited
Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar opens up on the third film in Tiger franchise with Salman Khan. Read on.
Salman Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar together are a blockbuster actor-director pair. Be it Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai or now Bharat, the duo has always managed to leave us feeling overwhelmed by the time a film hits its climax. Post Bharat, Ali will be bringing Salman back as Tiger in the third film to the franchise. The film is currently in the writing stage and Ali in an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla confirmed that he is very excited about it.
"Inshallah (God's will). We are right now in the writing process. We have locked the idea for the story and Salman and I are very excited about it. I will be working on that." He also elaborated on how his bonding with Salman has evolved over the years. "He and I share a great bond. It is almost like a sibling bond. Also I think he is a very sensible actor and a sensible star when it comes to understanding what will be the USP of the film."
Speaking about Bharat, their upcoming flick, Ali added, "Salman knew from day 1 when we wrote the script that in this film the most important aspect will be how will he age in the movie, how will he grow in the film, how would he look. Also, somewhere or the other it all starts with the story and in this film the core of the story is so strong that any actor who reads it gets charged for their performance. Same was with Sultan and Tiger, when Salman read the script, he knew what would be the potential of the film, of his performance."
"Then, of course, we have good and bad days, there are times when fight and argue but by the end of the day, we both understand each other very well and know that whatever we are doing it is for the film and that is very important. I feel fortunate that Bharat is my third film with him and hopefully many more in future."
Bharat releases on June 5, 2019.
