The Hindi version of Drishyam was directed by Nishikant Kamat and had featured Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran in the lead. Mohanlal's Drishyam 2 will release on February 19
In 2013, Mohanlal starrer Drishyam had released to positive reviews, and the film was subsequently remade in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran had headlined the Hindi version of the film which had received worldwide acclaim. Now, Mohanlal is gearing up to unveil Jeethu Joseph’s Drishyam 2 on February 19 on Amazon Prime Video, and Pinkvilla has a new exciting update around this much-awaited Malayalam thriller. We have learnt that the Hindi remake rights of Drishyam 2 have already been sold.
Filmmaker Kumar Mangat who had produced the Hindi version of Drishyam, has got the rights for Drishyam 2 as well. “Drishyam is a very special film for Kumar ji and he wanted to make sure that he bags the rights of Drishyam 2 as well. However, there is no clarity on who will direct and act in the Hindi version of Drishyam 2,” informs a source close to the development. The Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam was directed by Nishikant Kamat, who passed away last year.
Mohanlal’s Drishyam 2 is being described as “a gripping tale of an investigation and a family which is threatened by it.” The South superstar unveiled the trailer of Drishyam 2 on February 6 and wrote, “Unlock a new chapter in the life of Georgekutty and his family. #Drishyam2Trailer out now.” Besides Mohanlal, the film also features Meena, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Murali Gopy and Saikumar.
