EXCLUSIVE: Arjun Kapoor & Raj Kumar Gupta CONFIRM the Shah Rukh Khan angle in India's Most Wanted
Raj Kumar Gupta's hard-hitting drama on the capture of Yasin Bhatkal has an interesting episode that featured Shah Rukh Khan in real. Read details inside.
Arjun Kapoor's next release India's Most Wanted hits screens in two days from now. Raid director Raj Kumar Gupta is at the helm of things and like you would expect him to be, he's come up with another hard hitting film. Tracing the journey of five common men and how they nabbed the biggest terrorist from India - Yasin Bhatkal - someone who was called India's Osama, the film will give an insight into a lesser known story.
Raj explains, "It was a surgical strike of a different level altogether. It wasn't like Uri where our soldiers were well armed to nab the terrorists. Instead, this was a surgical strike with no weapons. When I heard the story, the first reaction was it's unbelievable. That's also the reason I got attracted to make it into a movie." Among the other highlights in the film, is the mention of a popular superstar - Shah Rukh Khan. Yes, SRK's name has been mentioned in the film and the team has also thanked him in the film's credits.
When probed further, Arjun confirms the same and explains, "It's factual and actually the reality. When you watch the film, it will be more clear. The terrorist we are talking about was a massive Shah Rukh Khan fan and when I heard it, I went to meet him to tell him that we want to use this portion. Then, he said, 'I know about this'." He further adds, "These are certain things that people know already. Shah Rukh sir was detained a couple of times because this terrorist used his name when he travelled. The brunt has been borne by Shah Rukh sir whenever he traveled abroad. This man was on the Most Wanted list worldwide and imagine how dangerous he was. Shah sir went to US for his work and he was detained because they thought he's the terrorist we're talking about."
How did SRK react to their requests? The 2 States actor says, "Shah Rukh sir was kind enough to let us use that information because it all adds up in the film." Raj too voices the same opinion, "It was extremely gracious of Shah Rukh to let us allow that portion in our movie. It adds value to the movie. We went to meet him at his office and told him that this was the film we were making and he immediately told us he's okay with it." Have they shown the film to SRK already? Raj rues, "No, we haven't been able to. He's a busy man and has other commitments too. I will ask him when he's free and maybe hold a special screening, just for him."
