EXCLUSIVE: Bhumi Pednekar comes on board Mr. Lele with Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani
Mr. Lele, which was originally supposed to be made with Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, has now got a revamp in casting. Here's all that we know.
After completing the upcoming social comedy Badhai Do with Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar is now all gearing up for her next film. Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that the actress has come on board Shashank Khaitan’s next film, Mr. Lele with Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani. Interestingly, Bhumi was a part of the film, when it was conceptualized originally with Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor too, however, that casting didn’t work out and resulted in a revamp with new set of actors on board.
“It’s an exciting project bringing three young talents of Bollywood together. Bhumi has loved the way her character is written and hence, got back to the film yet again. Vicky too is looking forward to slip into the comic space with the film. It’s a one of its kind comic thrillers, and the team is all excited to start shooting very soon. Vicky’s character has the Maharashtrian shades to it and whereas the details of Bhumi and Kiara’s track has been kept under wraps,” revealed a source, adding that it’s an exciting star cast in place.

Both the female leads have a strong character in the film with different edgy shades and that’s an aspect which makes it an exciting project. Vicky and Kiara have previously worked together in Lust Stories, and won appreciation for the work and they are now all ready to get back on a big screen entertainer. Bhumi on the other hand has been showcasing her versatility by switching from one space to the other over the last few years. It’s produced by Karan Johar and the prep in underway at the moment. The official announcement is also on the way of not just this film, but multiple others in the kitty of KjO’s production house.
