EXCLUSIVE: A boy cut look for agent Deepika Padukone in Pathan with Shah Rukh Khan; It’s an action-packed role
Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan are back together in this Siddharth Anand directed espionage action thriller, Pathan. Here's all you need to know about DP's character in the film.
On November 23, Deepika Padukone commenced shooting for the much-awaited espionage action thriller, the Siddharth Anand directed Pathan with Shah Rukh Khan at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. Soon after, it was revealed like Shah Rukh Khan, even DP plays the character of an agent in this action-packed thriller, which is a part of the YRF Spy Universe. And now, Pinkvilla has got an exclusive update on Deepika’s look and character sketch in the film. The actress will sport a stylish boy cut look in the film.
“It’s the character of a suave agent, who goes on a mission alongside Shah Rukh Khan, and after contemplating on multiple looks, they finally zeroed in to the boy cut (short hair) avatar for DP. She has already shot a considerable chunk in the film, and is expected to join the gang of Pathan again from mid of March,” revealed a trade source, adding further that the makers have already canned a grand entry scene for Deepika earlier in December. “It was a massive set up to film her introductory scene at YRF studios. The audience are on to see DP like never before in Pathan,” the source added.
On February 27, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan commenced shooting for the third schedule of Pathan at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. The shoot with the two Khan’s is going on in full swing, Salman will wrap up his part by March 6. While the sequence being shot at present features just Salman and SRK, Deepika too is expected to have a scene or two with the two Khan’s, however, a confirmation on the same is yet awaited. John Abraham, who plays the antagonist in the film, however is definitely not a part of the scene featuring Salman and SRK.
It’s a nuanced character of an agent for Deepika, and she has also been training in different forms of action for pull the stunts off with conviction. Following the on-going schedule in Mumbai, team Pathan is expected to fly abroad for a marathon schedule (more on this soon with exact locations). SRK, DP will be a part of this stint and John, who hasn't shot for the film yet, will also finally commence his work on Pathan this month. That aside, they have also shot against the green screen set up with VFX plates brought in from UAE, Turkey and several other countries. “It’s going to be a big screen visual spectacle with action and thrill on a different level. The three leads – SRK, DP and John - as also Salman, who has an extended cameo, have action in plenty to offer in the film,” the source informed, adding further that the film is expected to be wrapped up around the month of June/July and then gear up for a theatrical release in the month of January 2022.
