Rohit Shetty’s upcoming cop film Sooryavanshi has been making headlines since the time it has been incepted. Post the reveal of Akshay Kumar as the main lead of the film, fans have been dying to know the female lead opposite him. Amidst this, reports were coming that Katrina is being considered opposite Akshay in Sooryavnshi. But, now, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that Katrina Kaif indeed will be cast opposite Akshay Kumar in Sooryavanshi despite Rohit Shetty wanting some other actress.
Yes, as per what we have exclusively learnt, Akshay was insistent in having Katrina as the female lead opposite him in the film, while Rohit wanted someone else. Pinkvilla has learnt that Akshay Kumar was keen to cast Katrina in Sooryavanshi. In fact, Rohit Shetty wanted to cast someone else, but Akshay was adamant on her, and hence, Rohit Shetty had to give in. Thus, the questioned remained over a tussle between Akshay and Rohit with regards to casting Katrina as the main lead. Later, Katrina's spokesperson clarified and said, "This news is completely untrue."
Talking about Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi, the actor will be seen playing the role of the ATS Chief in the film which will be a part of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. At the end of Simmba, Akshay had a guest appearance which received a lot of applause and whistles. Recently, the posters of the film were also revealed on social media in which Akshay can be seen as a daring and brave cop who is all set to battle evil. As per the shoot, Akshay will soon begin the shooting for Sooryavanshi and the film will release on Eid 2020.
