EXCLUSIVE: Disha Patani says ‘Want to look good with Salman Khan,’ as Slow Motion song from Bharat wins hearts
Disha Patani in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla opened up about working with Salman Khan for the first, the stupendous response the song Slow Motion from Bharat has received and on being a part of the movie. Read on.
Salman Khan is back with his Eidi for fans with Bharat, which is a story of a man and his journey with the nation. The first song titled Slow Motion, featuring Salman and Disha Patani was digitally released on Thursday and has been garnering positive reviews. This is the first time Salman and Disha have been paired together and this interesting pairing has definitely received a thumbs up. Disha, who was particularly a bit nervous of how will the audience perhaps react to it, is currently on cloud nine with the unprecedented response.
In an EXCLUSIVE interview with PINKVILLA, the actress shared her excitement of sharing the screen space with Salman ‘sir’ for the first time, being part of this large scale project and about her character. “I am very happy as I did not expect this response. Of course, I want to look good with Salman sir,” she exclaimed and added, “My last film came last year and then its been a gap. Now with this (response), it just feels good. Slow Motion is a good song and I am enjoying watching people like it.”
Elaborating on her experience of collaborating with Salman for the first time, Disha mentioned, “Salman Sir is an amazing person to work with and I am so fortunate that at such an early stage of my career I got to work with such a big megastar. He is very helpful, very grounded and such a lovely person. You can learn so much from him. We were having night shoots I remember for Bharat and I used to look at him and would be amazed to see his energy. I usually used to die thinking of night shoots because I am not a night person, but he was there every night, dancing, and I don’t think it is an easy job. I used to be so inspired seeing his energy and positive vibes on sets. At this age and stage of his career, he is as excited as he would have been when he started.”
Working with a superstar can sometimes get overwhelming, when asked Disha if she felt nervous, the actresses promptly answered negative and said, “No, honestly, because he is very cooperative and easy to work with and I just enjoy dancing a lot. So, when you are on the sets, you are not thinking about anything else than your performance.”
Disha also revealed that she was convinced of being a part of Bharat as soon as director Ali Abbas Zafar told her how he has visioned the story. “Ali told me that Salman Sir would be playing early 20s character and I could relate to the whole thing on how we could be paired opposite each other, and he told me that I am playing a trapeze artist and that the movie is set in 70s and I love to do some crazy stuff; I love gymnastics; I was game for it immediately. It is a very exciting role.”
She further added, “At the same time, it was difficult as well because stunts though I love are not easy. I even broke my knee while rehearsing for one of the scenes. But, it is worth it, for sure".
Moving on, Disha acknowledged that her yellow saree has been creating quite a stir on social media and replied, “The whole credit goes to Ali Sir and designer Ashley Rebello who envisioned this look for me. It was Ali’s vision that he wanted me in a saree, in an earthy look, very Indian.”
Though Disha is yet to see the movie, the actress is sure each character in the movie will leave you intrigued. “The movie has been made with a lot of heart and emotions,” she concluded.
