India's Me Too has finally knocked the doors and many women have shared their ordeal. He called out Anu Malik for sexually harassing her. Shweta called Anu Malik a paedophile and sexual predator in a long note shared on Twitter on Wednesday. "Had to go back to my worst memory as a teenage girl today to write this and speak up - its now or never. This is my #MeToo and have to warn young girls about #AnuMalik & let you know your #TimesUp @IndiaMeToo Thank you @sonamohapatra for speaking up about him & supporting this," she wrote in her tweet.
Post her tweet, lyricist Sameer Anjaan came out in defense of Anu Malik. Anjaan claimed that he was present at the studio when Shweta and her mother visited them. The tweet also stated that Anu had asked Shweta to sing in front of all present instead of asking her to sing in another room. He expressed his shock at the accusations made by Shweta on her alleged #MeToo claim. Now, when we connected with Shweta Pandit, she told that she is disappointed to see Sameer Anjan's reaction to her tweet on Anu Malik.
Shweta said, "Why is Sameer uncle getting into this and I have read his tweet. Anu Malik ke dictionary mein beta word hai hi nahi, he would address girls as meri jaan and darling." Shweta also added that as he is currently judging Indian Idol, all the young girls should be aware of his acts.
"Anu Mallik is a pedophile and there are so many young contestants on the show I hope they know this side of the man. I have just started there are many other singers who will soon come out and talk about it," said Shweta.
When asked if the composer should be sacked from the show, Shweta said, "It is up to them. I have told you what I have experienced."
Shweta said, "After he asked me for a kiss, I couldn't sing and the statement made by Sameer is untrue. The song was to be sung by a new singer which was me but after the incident, I couldn't so the whole gyaan of me having a good voice and that we will work in the future is untrue. The song later was sung by another new singer Sarika Kapoor for the film Aawara Paagal Deewana."
