EXCLUSIVE: Jacqueline Fernandez joins Akshay Kumar on Bachchan Pandey set next week in Jaisalmer

In the first week of January, Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon and Arshad Warsi among others started shooting for the Sajid Nadiadwala production, Bachchan Pandey, directed by Farhad Samji, in Jaisalmer. The team has been shooting day and night for over a month now at real locations across Jaisalmer and have also shot some action scenes for the film. Pinkvilla has now learnt that the second female lead of the film, Jacqueline Fernandez is all set to join the Bachchan Pandey gang from next week.
“Jacqueline will fly off to Jaisalmer by mid-next week, and join the team of Bachchan Pandey for the shoot from the next week. She will be canning some important scenes of the film with Akshay and other members of the cast,” revealed a source close the development, adding further that they will be shooting till the first week of March before calling it a wrap on the outdoor schedule. “It will end up being a near two-month schedule, and will be followed by a brief stint in Mumbai thereby calling it a film wrap,” the source added.
While Akshay plays the role of a gangster, who wants to be an actor, Kriti’s character is that of an aspiring filmmaker. While details about Jacqueline’s track in Bachchan Pandey has been kept under wraps, Arshad’ portrays the key role of protagonist’s friend. The movie is gearing up for a Republic Day 2022 release in the cinema halls. Buzz is, the makers have recreated Uttar Pradesh in Jaisalmer, and Akshay’s character sketch is that of a UP based Gangster.
Bachchan Pandey is the 10th collaboration of Akshay and Sajid after Waqt Hamara Hai, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jaan E Mann, Heyy Babyy, Kambakkht Ishq, Housefull, Housefull 2, Housefull 3 and Housefull 4.
