EXCLUSIVE: Kangana Ranaut's Judgementall Hai Kya theme song has been re recorded, confirms the actress
After the CBFC decided to pass Mental Hai Kya with no cuts, only requesting the makers to change the title, Ekta Kapoor decided to call the film Judgementall Hai Kya. Now, we hear the team had to re-record the theme song of the film.
Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Judgementall Hai Kya's first theatrical trailer drops today evening. The entire team is already gearing up for a big launch at a suburban multiplex, amid heavy Mumbai rains. But while the audience will get to see the trailer for the first time, many might not know that the makers faced a two-week delay after the Censor Board raised objections against the title.
While the team had sent the trailer for certification on January 16, three days before the original date of the promo unveiling, several petitions and lawsuits filed by Psychiatric Department caused further delay. The makers came to an amicable solution after the CBFC asked them to remove the word Mental from the film. It was earlier titled Mental Hai Kya and hence the title too underwent a change.
That's not all. We hear that there's a song that also had to be changed. Kangana confirmed the development and told Pinkvilla, "Yes, it's true. We respect the CBFC's decision immensely because it's a law governing body and they wanted us to remove the word mental from the film entirely. There was a song that was used as background music throughout the film which we called the Mental song. But now, the singers had to re-record the whole track. That's also the reason why it took four-five days after the CBFC's clean chit for us to launch the promo." The film has Kangana and Rajkummar playing neighbours and revolves around a murder mystery with Kangs playing an obsessive woman, who suffers from a mental illness. The movie will maintain its planned release date and hit screens on July 26.
