Katrina Kaif is currently grinning from ear to ear. After receiving rave reviews for her stellar act in Salman Khan-starrer Bharat, she will next be seen romancing Akshay Kumar in Sooryavanshi, that is being directed by Rohit Shetty. This will mark the first association between Kat and the filmmaker.

Talking about the same, the Zero actress tells us, "It was something which was waiting to happen. Rohit sir and I have been in talks on and off for so many years now. But Sooryavanshi is where everything falls right into place. It has also come at the perfect time because me and Akshay haven't done anything for a while now. I liked the world they were creating. The girl's character is a little mature and correct to where me and Akshay are today. It's a nice balance between doing something very heavy like Bharat and then, something as entertaining as this."

The actioner will also reunite her with one of her favourite co-stars Akshay Kumar on screen again. An elated Katrina says, "It's really nice to be back with Akshay. But it's a different space altogether. It's comedy again. I haven't done comedy for a while. So, the first day on the sets, I was trying to find my bearings. Rohit sir and his team are really good actors. You have to be right in it, on your toes. I took a day or two to find my rhythm."

With Sooryavanshi, Simmba and Singham and the one with Salman Khan, Rohit is planning an entire array of cop films, something on the lines of a Marvel superhero universe. The idea is to get all the characters together to create a cop universe. While Ajay Devgn, Akshay and Ranveer Singh are expected to join hands, Katrina has revealed that she will also be part of the same. "That's the whole universe that will go ahead. So I think that's the plan. I'll definitely be part of this cop universe." She further adds, "I'd love to play a cop too someday. I'd love to do something fun and intense in the action space, which will happen soon."
