EXCLUSIVE: Laxmi Agarwal has THIS to say on reports of Deepika Padukone breaking down on 1st day of Chhapaak
Deepika Padukone reportedly broke down on the sets of Chhapaak on the first day. Read how Laxmi Agarwal, on whom the movie is based on, reacted to this.
Deepika Padukone is currently busy shooting for Chhapaak, in which she plays the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The actress has literally submitted herself to the role and was reportedly seen breaking down on the first day of the shoot. Yes, according to a report, "It happened when she was shooting for the first scene and having discussions with the filmmaker." In an EXCLUSIVE interview with Pinkvilla when we apprised Laxmi of the report, she was all overwhelmed and said that she is sure that Deepika will nail the character.
"When you see someone in pain, you feel it too. Deepika is someone who embodies the character and not just the face. She immersed herself completely into the role and the character. It is a painful journey, so I think it is natural for anyone to breakdown if they are so involved with the journey. I am only happy to know that she is doing full justice to the role," Laxmi added while maintaining that she is very happy to know that Deepika is playing the significant role. When asked if she has personally been helping Deepika to get any emotion right, Laxmi refuted to divulge details saying that she won't be able to speak about it as yet.
Chhapaak, helmed by Meghna Gulzar, also stars Vikrant Massey and chronicles the journey of Laxmi Agarwal who survived an acid attack at the age of 15. The movie releases next year in January. Deepika also turns producer with Chhapaak.
