A meeting was held at Akshay Kumar's house before Sajid Khan was replaced with Farhad Samji as Housefull 4's director. Along with Akshay, Twinkle Khanna too was firm on sacking Sajid for his alleged sexual misconduct.
India's Me Too movement has led to the ousting of many Bollywood personalities as more and more women come out about their alleged sexual harassment incidents. A recent name who has been accused of sexual misconduct is ex-Housefull 4 director Sajid Khan. Akshay Kumar, who is a part of the film as well as Twinkle Khanna addressed the issue on Twitter. While Akshay stated that he will not work with proven offenders, Twinkle stated that the Housefull 4 team has to take a firm stand on Sajid Khan.
As per our source from the unit, before Sajid was replaced as the director of Housefull 4, a meeting was held with the entire team and Vijay Singh (Fox Star Studio) at Akshay Kumar's house, at 5 am. Twinkle was also an active participant in the meeting and insisted that Sajid will not continue as the director of Housefull 4 and should be sacked from the film. Vijay too agreed with Twinkle's stance. Ultimately, Sajid was replaced by writer Farhad Samji instead.
Sajid too had taken to Twitter to address the allegations against him, which were made by several women. The filmmaker tweeted, "In the wake of the allegations against me and the pressure being put on my family, my producers and the stars of my film Houseful 4, I must take the moral responsibility of stepping down from my directorial post, till the time I can allay the allegations and prove the truth."
"I request my friends in media to not pass out judgement till the truth is out," Sajid added.
