EXCLUSIVE: Rajkummar Rao on cameo in Kangana Ranaut's Simran: This Simran doesn't need any Raj
Rajkummar Rao has the best answer when asked if he has a cameo in Simran.
Rajkummar Rao who impressed everyone with his performance in Bareilly Ki Barfi is currently busy promoting his upcoming movie Newton.
The actor has earlier collaborated with ace filmmaker Hansal Mehta for Shahid, Citylights, Aligarh, Omerta and now Bose. Given that Hansal's latest film Simran starring Kangana Ranaut is all set to release tomorrow, we wondered if we will see Raj in a cameo in the movie.
To this, Rajkummar laughed and said, "This Simran doesn't need any RAJ, yeh Simran apni zindagi aise hi jee legi.. ja beta ja tujhe Raj ki zaurat nahi hai."
Kangana and Raj have earlier shared screen space in Queen.
Talking about Newton, the movie revolves around a government clerk who tries to conduct fair voting on an election day amid the fear of guerrilla attacks and apathy of security forces.
The teaser of the film is out and well, by seeing the rushes of it, it does seem promising. The trailer with Sanjay Misra educating a group of people about how elections are conducted in our country. He gives out the details of expenses, voters and other information to the audience and says, "India elections… Rs 30,000 crore expense, 84 crore voters, 90 lakhs voting booths. Even today we are making new records and breaking the old ones in the Guinness Book of World Records. Many goons might enter the Parliament but we won’t allow them to interfere with elections."
