EXCLUSIVE: Rajkummar Rao charged THIS whopping amount to do Luv Ranjan's Chupke Chupke
You won't believe how much Rajkummar Rao has charged as remuneration for the remake of Chupke Chupke, that will be produced by Luv Ranjan and T-Series. Find out inside.
Rajkummar Rao has turned out to be one of the biggest dark horses in Bollywood today. Over the last few years, the actor has not only proved his credibility but the nation has also suddenly woken up to the bundle of talent that he embodies. With a superhit like Stree under his name today, he has also turned out to be a bankable actor too.
He has a few films lined up already. There's Turram Khan, Made in China, followed by Roohi Afza next year. But we can also comfortably now tell you that he has signed Luv Ranjan's next production venture, which is a remake of the superhit Hrishikesh Mukherjee comedy Chupke Chupke, and will be bankrolled by T-Series.
Says a source, "Luv has been planning the film for sometime now. The whole essence and storyline will remain almost the same, with a few additions in terms of the style. It's being made to suit the modern era and Raj has been locked to play Dharmendra's role from the original. They are on the hunt for the other lead cast but as of now, only initial talks have happened with a few A-list actors."
But Raj has not come cheap for the team. For those unversed, Raj has hiked his fee after the success of Stree but for the Chupke Chupke remake, he has charged a bomb. Another source close to the development reveals, "Raj has been paid to the tune of Rs 9 crore for Chupke Chupke, which is also by far the highest he has received so far. But he totally deserves it."
