EXCLUSIVE: Rajkummar Rao in talks with Dream Girl makers Ekta Kapoor & Raaj for a film on male pregnancy?
After the success of Dream Girl, Ekta Kapoor and Raaj Shaandilyaa might be coming together for another project. Now, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that Rajkummar Rao might be in talks for the film based on an offbeat subject of Male pregnancy.
One of the successful films of 2019, was Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Dream Girl. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film was based on the story of a man who pretends to be a woman while working at a female call centre. It seems that the success of Dream Girl has prompted Ekta to collaborate again with Raaj for another offbeat project and they have the perfect lead in mind, Rajkummar Rao. After teaming up for Dream Girl, Ekta and Raaj might be planning to make another film.
Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that Ekta has joined hands with Raaj Shaandilyaa for producing a film on male pregnancy. We have learnt from exclusive sources, for the main role, Rajkummar Rao is in talks and has been approached for the same. Pinkvilla has also exclusively learnt that Shaandilyaa won’t be directing the film. The plan is to start the film sometime next year.
The Stree actor has liked the idea a lot. However, Rajkummar is yet to sign on the dotted line. But it is highly likely that Raj will step into the role.
Teaming up with Ekta and Raaj, who have already given a hit film Dream Girl on an offbeat subject, might be on the cards for Rajkummar as well. Rajkummar has worked previously in a film produced by Ekta Kapoor, Judgementall Hai Kya with Kangana Ranaut. His performance in the film was loved and it received rave reviews. If Rajkummar teams up with Ekta once again, it would be his second project and with an offbeat subject like male pregnancy, wonders can be expected from the trio.
