EXCLUSIVE Mother's Day Special: Rani Mukerji- After Adira, I realised you can love somebody more than yourself
A successful actor, an equally warm human being and a doting mother, Rani knows how to strike a balance between her professional and personal life. She turned mother to baby Adira in December 2016.
Rani Mukerji is an epitome of grace and talent. The powerhouse actor has been pushing the envelope as an artist ever since she made her Bollywood debut. With strong portrayals of women onscreen, Rani carved a niche for herself. If her being a mother was considered a hurdle, the actor shattered the glass ceiling with the stupendous success of her last movie Hichki.
A successful actor, an equally warm human being and a doting mother to Adira, Rani knows how to strike a balance. The beautiful actor has never shied away from talking about her daughter Adira, who was born in December 2016, even though she is constantly seen protecting her little munchkin from the media glare.
Regarding how motherhood has changed her, Rani in an EXCLUSIVE chat told us, "Your child gives birth to the mother that you are. I became a mother because of my daughter. She gave birth to me."
She added, "I think motherhood changes a person in a very positive way. Especially with me, it has been a positive turnover. I realised how much love I had within me. Before Adira, that much I don't think was tapped. But after Adira, I realised, Oh god, you can love somebody more than yourself and that happens when you have a child. And that happened with me."
Furthermore, she stated, "With Adira, every day is a learning process."
She also revealed the one thing that she has definitely learned from Adira. "What I learned from her is that she is very sure of what she wants. She doesn't waiver her answers and I love that about her. I hope she maintains that because I think she is clear about what she wants in life and that is something I am learning from her," Rani added.
Summing up her two years journey of being a mother, the talented actor stated, "It's been a wonderful journey. I think the answer is very obvious, I think every mother will feel ecstatic, every mother will feel that she is the only mother in the world. For me, as I say, my life has completely changed after Adira. It couldn't have been anything better, it's nothing less than a miracle. To exactly believe that you have actually given birth to a child, that feeling of giving birth to a life is an amazing one, which any woman will feel and I felt the same."
