In December 2015, Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra welcomed their baby girl and a year later, in a heartfelt post and the first picture of Adira Chopra, the actress had written, "I hope I can bring up Adira beautifully, without any fears... brave... wise... clever... disciplined... well mannered. I want everyone to be proud of her." Since Adira's birth, Rani's entire life has revolved around her tiny munchkin. It was only in 2018 that Mukerji made her comeback in Bollywood with Hichki which was a hit at the box-office.

In an EXCLUSIVE interaction with Pinkvilla while on her recent trip to Melbourne, we quizzed Rani on whether motherhood has changed her mindset on her choices of movies and roles to take up. On this, Rani stated, "I think I will have the same mindset because our personal life doesn't dictate... at least my mind as an actor. As an actor, I'm here to play different roles, play different characters and give the audience different stories that I believe should be told and should be shared with one and all."

"So, I don't think I would change because of having a baby or getting married because when I didn't have a baby and when I didn't get married, I did a lot of movies where I had babies and got married. So, I don't think it's going to change," Rani added.

Recently, Rani was given the Best Actress award for Hichki at the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2018. Before receiving her award, Rani had shared her thoughts with us and said, "I feel truly blessed that after becoming a mother. this is my first award and it's my first award for Hichki. And ofcourse, I might get this award far away from my own country in Melbourne, amongst all the Australian Indians and in the midst of the Australian film people so I think it is truly special."
