EXCLUSIVE: Ranveer Singh starrer '83 to see Sahil Khattar recreate the role of Syed Kirmani?
YouTuber Sahil Khattar to reportedly play the role of former Indian cricketer Syed Kirmani in Ranveer Singh's '83.
Ranveer Singh starrer '83 will see an ensemble cast with Tamil star Jiva being the latest addition. Now, we have exclusively learnt that Television host, actor and YouTuber Sahil Khattar has been roped in to play the role of Syed Kirmani in the movie. Kirmani was a well known wicket keeper who played for the Indian cricketer team. He was awarded the best wicket keeper award for his stellar performance at the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Apart from that, Ranveer will be seen stepping into the shoes of Kapil Dev, the man who helped India bags its first World Cup in Cricket.
Coming to Kirmani, he was a lower order reliable batsman. His unbroken 126 partnership for ninth wicket with Kapil Dev against Zimbabwe in the 1983 World Cup with Kirmani contributing 26 was one of the critical moments in the history of cricket. It will be interesting to see how Khattar manages to pull off Kirmani on the fields. Meanwhile, preparations for the movie has already become. Kabir Khan of Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame will be helming the film which releases later this year.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh’s ‘83 will be his first multi-language film. As per DNA, ‘83 will also be made in Tamil and Telugu aside from Hindi which will make it Ranveer’s first trilingual film. DNA quoted a source saying, “Our heroic win in the 1983 World Cup is a historical event in Post-Independence India. Considering that cricket and movies are akin to religion in the country, and are bound to resonate with audiences across ages and strata, the film’s producers have decided to shoot for the Tamil and Telugu versions simultaneously."
