EXCLUSIVE: Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan to shoot for Pathan from tomorrow; Tiger 3 shoot to follow
And Karan Arjun, Salman Khan and SRK reunite tomorrow, this time around as Tiger and Pathan. Here's all you need to know.
In November, Shah Rukh Khan started shooting for the Siddharth Anand directed action thriller, Pathan at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. A couple of weeks later, the leading lady of the film, Deepika Padukone joined the shoot and the duo canned some key sequence of the film before calling it a schedule wrap by Mid-December. The shoot resumed in January with a prolonged chase-based action scene in UAE, and now, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that the third schedule of Pathan begins tomorrow at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai.
And Salman Khan, who has an extended cameo in the film, will start shooting for his part from tomorrow alongside Shah Rukh Khan. “It’s a 10-to-12-day work for Salman, and he will be shooting for almost all his scenes in the film with SRK. While they have acted in multiple films before and even done cameo for each other, their chemisty in Pathan is going to be special and the biggest till date. Aditya Chopra along with his team of writers and director, have come up with scenes that will justify the presence of the two mighty Khan’s,” revealed a trade source.
Interestingly, Salman’s will be seen in his spy avatar of Avinash Singh Rathore urf. Tiger from the Tiger Franchise joining Pathan aka. SRK and Deepika, who will also be seen as spies in the film. John Abraham is the lead antagonist of the espionage thriller; however, one awaits on a confirmation if even John and DP will be shooting with the two Khan’s or not from tomorrow. Pathan will see a crossover with Tiger, which eventually leads to a universe of spies. "Its going to be just Salman and Shah Rukh on sets tomorrow," the source informed. Salman is expected to wrap up his part on the film by March 6, and then start shooting for the Maneesh Sharma directed Tiger 3 at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai.
“Right after wrapping up Pathan, Salman moves on to Tiger 3. He will be shooting with his Zoya, Katrina Kaif and the antagonist, Emraan Hashmi, in the first schedule of Tiger 3 from second week of March. It’s expected to be a month-long stint as the team then takes a short break before flying off for their overseas schedule. While Europe is their key location of shoot right now, it all depends eventually on the covid scenario on-ground. The overseas schedule is expected to commence around end of May/Early June,” the source added.
Pathan is tentatively gearing up for an early 2022 release in January, Tiger 3 on the other hand is eyeing at the Eid 2022 slot. The SRK film wraps up around the month of July, whereas Tiger 3 is expected to reach the finish line around September this year. Being high on budget and heavy on action, it would then move onto the prolonged post-production stage.
