Last year, when pictures of Ranbir Kapoor looking like the spitting image of Sanjay Dutt while shooting for his biopic came out, fans were left with bated breaths for the release of the movie.

While initially, the movie was slated for a December 2017 release, it was later pushed back to a March 2018 release.

However, it looks like the makers are deciding to postpone the release date further. A source revealed to us, "It is confirmed that the release date of the Dutt biopic will be postponed. It is yet to be determined whether it will be postponed to June end or beginning of July."

Interestingly, Fox Star which is behind both Dutt biopic and Baaghi 2 which stars Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani, today announced that Baaghi has been preponed to a March 30, 2018, release which was supposed to be Dutt biopic's release date.

Our source continued further revealing the reason as to why the delays are happening. "The movie is not yet ready," the source stated.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, The Dutt biopic also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushal and Karishma Tanna in pivotal roles.

Earlier, in an interview, Ranbir spoke about the Dutt biopic and said, "Sanju Sir has been closely attached to the film. He has come on set and has been amazingly supportive. It used to be surreal for me because I am acting like him. He used to sit in front of the monitor and see some scenes and be so happy. He’s like an overgrown child, who gives love to people…I feel like I was born to play this part. He is the only actor whose picture is on my cupboard and to play him is surreal. Getting a physical look right is easy. To get somebody’s soul right, the human being right- that’s the hard part. I hope I’ve done a good job."

"I’m grateful for this film and am working hard on it. I hope that people understand this man’s life, his soul through my work," Ranbir added.
