Shahid Kapoor is possibly one who picks up different films at different stages in his career. With strong performances in films like Haider, Udta Punjab and Padmaavat, he has climbed up the charts. Now, as he readies himself to release his next film Kabir Singh, which also might in fact be his most commercial film till date, he spoke to us exclusively about matters of the heart.
His character Kabir Singh goes through a self-destructive phase after his break-up. When we ask Shahid about the same, he reveals he's also been there and done that. "A certain part of the film is about that. I've been there and I've seen so many of my friends be there. We all at different points in life have fallen apart emotionally. We've all gone through phases where we have felt rejected and not liked ourselves. We don't feel happy about living. Most of the people I know, including me, have been through those phases. And they are the most vulnerable times in your life."
We prodded him about his first heartbreak and he admitted to have felt the pain in school. "I was in my ninth standard and I really liked this girl. We had just four girls in the class so there were limited options to crush on. Apparently half the class liked her and I wasn't even in the top 5-6 people on her mind. She probably didn't even know much about me."
