EXCLUSIVE: Shahid Kapoor in talks for a film with Neerja director Ram Madhwani
Shahid Kapoor might not have made any official announcement about his next project but we hear he has been offered a crazy script by director Ram Madhwani. Read details inside.
Of all the actors from this generation, we can undoubtedly call Shahid Kapoor one of the best we have. His interesting choices translate into some really powerful performances. And in the recent years, with films like Haider, Udta Punjab and Padmaavat, he has managed to create a space for himself. While the actor is busy promoting Kabir Singh - the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy, there has been no announcement from the actor's side regarding his next project. There were talks of him playing boxer Dingko Singh in his biopic, that was being helmed by Raja Krishna Menon. But that has been put on hold for the time being. Instead, Shahid is reading a few scripts and one of them has caught his interest too.
A source close to the development, reveals, "Shahid might green light a film with Ram Madhwani, who directed the award-winning Neerja. A few weeks ago, Shahid met Ram and although he has been scheduling a lot of meetings and narrations, this project is what has interested him. It's a fantastic script which is both quirky and whacky at the same time. Ram is known for a certain brand of cinema and he loves Shahid's body of work. Shahid, on the other hand, wants to experiment with his films and Ram's offer has got him really excited."
But he is yet to sign on the dotted line. "As of now, discussions are on. Shahid has loved the script and has almost given a go ahead. Now, the modalities need to be worked out before it rolls on floors. Shahid will mostly take a call after the release of Kabir Singh." But this new association has clearly got us excited for sure.
