EXCLUSIVE: Siddhant Chaturvedi aka MC Sher: Could see Alia Bhatt playing Safeena; she's my favourite character

Gully Boy, directed by Zoya Akhtar, is collecting rave reviews from all quarters which also reflects in its box office figures. The movie is inching closer to enter the 100 crore club and while Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are at the centre of receiving accolades, Siddhant Chaturvedi who played the role of MC Sher has left a striking impression by becoming the current national crush of India. In a candid chat, when we asked Siddhant about Safeena, played by Alia Bhatt, a madly possessive lover and an aspiring surgeon, the actor highly praised her.
He, in fact, said that Safeena was his favourite character in Gully Boy. "When I read the script, the very first time I met Zoya I was like, 'Safeena is amazing yaar.' The character, I mean, and I could totally see Alia Bhatt do it. When I saw her play it, I was blown away. She is fantastic. She is my favourite character in the film. The grace with which Alia showed anger, kamaal hai."
Not just that, when asked if he could relate to Safeena's character, he laughed off and added, "Yes, I have had such relationships. If you have been in a relationship with a person since childhood and love him so much, ho jata hai kabhi kabhi."
Gully Boy released this Valentine's Day, February 14, 2019. The movie is a shout out to real gully boys, Divine and Naezy.
