EXCLUSIVE: Sushant Singh Rajput in Rustom director Tinu Suresh Desai's next
Sushant Singh Rajput has not made any announcement in the last few months. While the actor is waiting for Chhichhore to release, he has mostly decided to do an action espionage thriller next.
Sushant Singh Rajput might have not had a great year so far, with Sonchiriya turning out to be a huge disaster at the box office, but the actor is patiently waiting for Nitesh Tiwari's Chhichhore, which is apparently a great film. He had announced another project Rifleman that's based on Jaswant Singh Rathore's life. But like we had earlier told you, the project is stuck in a legal wrangle of sorts.
Now, there are fresh reports about another movie that SSR is in talks for. A source close to the development reveals, "Rustom director Tinu Suresh Desai has offered Sushant a big film. The filmmaker had been planning to mount the project for sometime but hasn't been able to. It was then he was introduced to Sushant who he shared the idea with. It's a novel concept so it immediately caught the actor's fancy and he has given it a verbal nod as of now."
But the paperwork won't happen as yet. Adds our source, "It's an espionage spy thriller. It will involve a huge budget and currently, both Tinu and Sushant are taking the film to several big banners who can come on board to finance the project. But Sushant is extremely kicked about the whole film since it involves a lot of action and also has a hint of nationalism in it." Previously too, Sushant was supposed to play the main lead in Robby Grewal-directorial RAW-Romeo Akbar Walter that released earlier this year. SSR had walked out of the film, post which the makers went ahead and made it with John Abraham. The film couldn't bring in the numbers at the box office, though.
