EXCLUSIVE: Taapsee Pannu to shoot for Shabaash Mithu from April; Here’s all you need to know about her prep
Taapsee Pannu will essay the role of cricketer Mithali Raj in Shabaash Mithu. She is presently shooting for Looop Lapeta in Goa
Taapsee Pannu is on a roll. After completing the shoot for Akarsh Khurana’s Rashmi Rocket in Gujarat in January, the actress started shooting for Aakash Bhatia’s Looop Lapeta in Goa. While Rashmi Rocket will reportedly narrate her character’s journey from anonymity to prominence, Looop Lapeta is the Hindi adaptation of the 1998 German thriller, Run Lola Run. Pinkvilla now has a new update on Taapsee’s forthcoming film, the Rahul Dholakia directed Shabaash Mithu. We have learnt that the film based on cricketer Mithali Raj’s life is set to roll in April.
A source close to the development informs, “Taapsee will start shooting for Shabaash Mithu from the first week of April in Mumbai. She is presently busy with Loop Lapeta, but practises for the game after the shoot depending on her schedule. Her cricket trainers too are in Goa with Taapsee to help her with the game. She will wrap up the filming for Loop Lapeta in the next 10 to 12 days, after which the actress will start investing more hours for her cricket training which is expected to go on for a month.”
Cricketers Kavita Patil, Devieka Palshikaar and Nooshin Khadeer along with physical therapist Akanksha Satyavanshi are helping Taapsee prep for Shabaash Mithu. “Taapsee will also train with Mithila Raj herself for a few days before she starts shooting for the film,” adds the source. Interestingly, Taapsee was also spotted indulging in croissants and coffee with her trainers at a cafe in Anjuna on Sunday morning.
On January 27, Taapsee had announced the beginning of her prep for Shabaash Mithu. “And romance with the bat n the ball has begun.... long way to go but a good start is half job done. This is going to be another milestone of sorts. For our captain cool @M_Raj03 and all her #WomenInBlue,” she wrote on Twitter.
