In the lockdown, Tiger Shroff signed on for Vikas Bahl’s upcoming film, Ganpath, which is said to be a film based on boxing and underground MMA. The actor got into the prep to master at the sport as like always, he is keen on performing all the stunts by himself, without the use of body double. Even now, as he waits to start shooting for Heropanti 2 from March, he is training in different forms of the sport. Pinkvilla has learnt that the makers of this Vikas Bahl directorial are in talks with two actresses to come on board the film.

“It’s a two-part franchise and a tale that chronicles the emotional highs and lows of Ganpath’s character played by Tiger Shroff. It’s completely different from what he has done so far, more in the intense space with a strong undercurrent of vengeance and emotion that pushes him to take up and rule the boxing and underground MMA world,” revealed a source close to the development, adding further that they are planning to take the film on floors around August next year.

“The film has two strong female characters and the makers are in talks with two big names of the industry to come on board the film alongside Tiger. The paperwork is underway and everything should be locked in a fortnight,” the source added. Before moving on to Ganpath, Tiger Shroff would have wrapped up shooting for Heropanti 2.

Vikas on the other hand is currently busy with his web series, Sunflower and soon after that, he moves on to the Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Deadly from around April 2021. Ganpath is produced by Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani, and is being planned a two-film franchise. It’s essentially a father-son tale, with core emotion incepting from the love the duo for boxing. The casting of a senior actor to play Ganpath’s father is under way. The entire story is set in Mumbai, and the titular character is said to be a devotee of lord Ganesha.
