EXCLUSIVE: Valimai team await unlock of Spain to shoot a bike-based action scene with Thala Ajith

Pinkvilla previously reported that the team of Thala Ajith’s upcoming action thriller, Valimai, is gearing up for a last schedule in February. While the plan of shooting in Spain still stays intact, we have got some more scoop about the film. “While major chunk of Valimai is ready, Spain is currently under lockdown and the team is now awaiting the Spanish government to announce unlock provisions. They will chalk out the Spain schedule once the unlock provisions are announced and the cases in Spain are under control,” revealed a source close to the development.
Prod on the details and importance of this Spain schedule and the source added, “They need to shoot for around 5 days in Spain. It’s a special bike-based action scene to be shot under the supervision of experts from Spain, which is the reason of flying abroad. It’s among the most unique bike scenes of the film, and Thala Ajith, being a biker himself, wanted it to look as authentic as possible.” The entire premise of Valimai is set in India, with Ajith’s character of a cop being on the run throughout the country. Even the Spain portions will be in sync with the Indian bit.
Valimai is said to be among the biggest action bonanza’s of 2021, and producer Boney Kapoor has gone all out to mount it on a scale that has not been seen in an Ajith film before. The superstar will be seen in several bike-based action scenes in the film. Valimai is targeting an August 2021 release, and last we heard, the film was looking at the Independence Day weekend. Sources who have seen rushes of the film can’t stop going gaga over the visuals and Thala Ajith’s look in the film.
“While the entire film has been kept under wraps, the team will unveil Ajith’s look as also a teaser, only once the film is wrapped up,” the source shared, adding further that apart from Spain, a small patch work schedule of the film will take place in Chennai. Valimai is directed by H.Vinoth and was initially slated for a Diwali 2020 release, however delayed due to the pandemic.
