EXCLUSIVE: Vicky Kaushal to shoot Udham Singh biopic over the next seven months!
The filmmaker wants to shoot the several seasons in different locations, to capture the correct setting for the Udham Singh biopic and hence, has spread out the schedules over the next few months.
Shoojit Sircar's pet project - the biopic on Udham Singh - has been in the works for sometime now. It was supposed to go on floors last year with Irrfan but after the actor was diagnosed with neuro endocrine cancer, the filmmaker decided to push his movie and wait for his hero to come back fully recovered. But it was Irrfan who suggested him to go ahead with the film and not delay it further.
It was then that Vicky Kaushal was roped in for the same. Vicky, who rose to fame with back to back terrific performances in Raazi, Sanju and Uri, is currently the biggest poster boy of Bollywood. Vicky kickstarted the movie in the UK and then zoomed off to the US for a mini vacation, after the first schedule was wrapped up.
But the movie will hit theatres only next year. Says a source, "Shoojit has properly chalked out a plan. He doesn't want to compromise on the scale on which he wants to mount Sardar Udham Singh. His script demands several seasonal changes in the film and the schedules are planned in such a way where the team will get to shoot the different settings in real time. In fact, the October director will also begin Gulaabo Sitaabo starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana in between, while Vicky is also looking at locking his free dates for the other projects he's committed to."
