Siddhant Chaturvedi aka MC Sher of Gully Boy, in a fun and candid chat with Pinkvilla, opened up about the love he has been receiving for his performance, his most difficult scene and more. VIDEO INSIDE.
Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles has started an unprecedented wave of rap culture in the country. Apart from the duo, if there is another character which has stood out and how, it is Siddhant Chaturvedi as MC Sher, who has become the latest crush of Indians. Fans have been only raving about the actor, his performance, his look, basically everything about him. We sat with the actor for a candid chat recently and his candour won us over. From speaking about the appreciation that he has been receiving to Ranveer Singh being a mentor to embracing the new tag of being the national crush and more, the actor revealed it all.
Ask him about being recognised as MC Sher, he said, "It is very overwhelming. It is my first film; it is a huge thing. I had expected some kind of appreciation, but this is beyond that. I am still absorbing the reactions. I am numb to be honest. The first 100 reactions, I was like oh my god and now I am like, was I really that good. I don't know. It is the love of the audience, thank you so much to everybody. I am trying to reply to everybody on social media. Apna Time Aagaya, Bhai."
We also asked him what according to him was a difficult scene to perform but was convinced with the outcome later on. Recounting, Siddhant added, "There is this scene where I lose. That was something that I did not rehearse, it just came naturally. It starts off with me smiling and then turning and break into a laughter. This was a scene which was written as a sweet roar but I did not know if it would come the way they want it. But looking at Murad's face and the situation, it just happened. I was very happy to see him win, rather than me losing. And when I saw it on screen, I think it worked."
Apart from many other things, we asked his reaction to being called as the national crush currently. The actor, who was overwhelmed with all the love, blushed and exclaimed, "National crush.. I don't know yaar. I have never thought about it. I want people to recognise my work, which they are. National crush, I am getting a lot of messages from the ladies, I feel happy about it. I am blushing but I don't know how to react."
Not just that, Sher also revealed that Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone among others complimented him, and to know more, watch the VIDEO right here and leave your comments below.
