EXCLUSIVE: Vidya Balan praises Kiara Advani, reveals one thing she would have changed about Kabir Singh
Kiara Advani asked Vidya Balan what she thought of her character in Kabir Singh. And here's what the Mission Mangal actress had to say.
It won't be wrong to say that Vidya Balan set quite a precedence for most Bollywood heroines. Whether it was breaking stereotypes or making sure actresses are looked up with more respect, Vidya's done it all. And guess what? The entire woman brigade of Bollywood respects her for that. So when we cornered the Mission Mangal actress for a quick rapid fire, we didn't ask her questions. It was the other popular A-list heroines who sent in their love, and a few Qs for Vidya. From Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Kiara Advani to Parineeti Chopra, Taapsee Pannu and Nithya Menen, Vidya answered all of it.
Kiara, who wowed everyone with her performance in Kabir Singh, was also one of the few who asked her a question. She asked, "What are her thoughts on playing a character like Preeti from Kabir Singh and over all, how did she perceive a character like Preeti?" Vidya started off by complimenting her, "She's so pretty," and then further continued, "I personally didn't like the fact that she takes him back at the end of the film. But that's my personal view. I called her up and told her she did a great job. Especially for a city bred independent girl who's not like Preeti, to play it with so much conviction is the best thing about being an actor. Hats off!"
For the unversed, there was a huge furore about how the love was presented in Kabir Singh. Sandeep Reddy Vanga's interview where he equated love to physical abuse went viral and caused further damage. The film has since then been a constant talking point and is also the highest grossing film of the year so far. But clearly, Vidya has loved Kiara's performance in the film.
