EXCLUSIVE: Vijay Sethupathi & Vikrant Massey’s Mumbaikar to wrap up by February 27; Makers eye May 27 release
Producer Shibu Thameens further reveals that director Santosh Sivan will present Mumbai nights and the rains most beautifully in the film
On January 1, Baahubali director SS Rajamouli and filmmaker Karan Johar shared the poster of Santosh Sivan’s Vijay Sethupathi and Vikrant Massey starrer, Mumbaikar and soon after the cast started shooting for the film in the Maximum city. While Rajamouli gave his best wishes to the team, Johar said that the film ‘promises to be a stunning cinematic experience’. Pinkvilla now has a new update on this much-awaited movie. Producer Shibu Thameens reveals that the film that is being shot in a start-to-finish schedule is expected to wrap up by February 27.
"Mumbaikar is an action-thriller and director Santosh Sivan is presenting Vikrant Massey in a very different avatar which his fans would have never seen him in. He plays this angry young man alongside Vijay Sethupathi in the film and it will be exciting to watch them together. There are many action scenes in the film, but none of these sequences look forced. They appear as the situation demands,” informs Thameens. Besides Sethupathi and Massey, this Hindi movie also features Sanjay Mishra, Ranvir Shorey, Tanya Maniktala and Sachin Khedekar in pivotal roles.
The producer further informs that Sivan is introducing another actor Hridhu Haroon with Mumbaikar. “Most of the film is being shot after the sun sets and you can trust Santosh Sivan to present the Mumbai nights and the rains most beautifully in the film. The movie is being shot in a single schedule which began from January 10, 2021 and we expect to wrap up the film by February 27. As of now, we are looking at a May 27 release in the theatres," Thameens signs off.
