EXCLUSIVE: VT Station to be recreated for Varun Dhawan & Sara Ali Khan's Coolie No.1 in London
Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan kickstart Coolie No. 1 remake in Bangkok in August. But it will soon move to David Dhawan's favourite shooting spot London, where a huge set is being erected.
Varun Dhawan is currently busy finishing the last leg of shoot for his ambitious dance saga Street Dancer 3D. The Remo D'souza directorial will have Varun and Shraddha Kapoor returning on screen and is planned for a Republic Day 2020 release. And right after, VD kickstarts work on his next project - David Dhawan's Coolie No.1 remake.
The film, which is an official remake of the Govinda-Karisma Kapoor starrer, will also see Sara Ali Khan stepping into the shoes of Lolo. The film rolls on the floors around August. There are several locations that have been locked for the comic caper. The first schedule kicks off in Bangkok, then moves to London and culminates in Goa and Mumbai.
A source tells us, "Varun plays a coolie in the film and a huge set has been built near London. The entire VT station has been recreated there. The makers are not keeping any stone unturned to make the set look as real as possible. Although they could have shot at Mumbai's VT too, it is difficult given the security concerns. That's why the producer Jackky Bhagnani decided to build an entire model of the famous terminus in the UK."
That's not all. There was another reason behind the team picking London as one of their shooting spots. "David Dhawan is extremely emotional about the city and he feels London is lucky for him. That's also why he made sure a portion of Coolie No.1 is also shot there."
