Ranveer Singh is currently in London to shoot for his movie '83, which is being helmed by Kabir Khan. The movie is based on the life of former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev and the iconic 1983 World Cup which India won. Madhu Mantena, who is co-producing the movie along with Sajid Nadiadwala, Deepika Padukone's production, already has plans to make a movie on ICC World Cup 2019. Yes, you read that right! Pinkvilla has learnt that the producer has expressed that similar to Indian squad's victory of 1983 on which the movie is being made, if India wins the World Cup this year then, there will be another cricket movie that will showcase the victory of 2019 to the silver screen.
A source close to the production informed, "The talks for the movie has already begun where Madhu is super excited to get the movie going. He has started further talks on this new project as well". When contacted Madhu Mantena, he confirmed the news and said, "We are making the film to mark the iconic 1983 victory. After '83, if India wins the World Cup this year in 2019, we would like to make a film on the win.”
We are sure this news will surely pump up the Indian audience who are known to be the biggest fans of cricket globally. The film '83, also starring Deepika Padukone, would be the first-ever trilingual release for both, Ranveer Singh and director Kabir Khan in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. '83 is slated to hit the screens on April 10, 2020.
