Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat has been mired in controversies all throughout the year of 2017. Post a lot of debate, the film is finally hitting the screens on January 24 at 7 pm. Now, according to our sources, the makers want the film to be screened in the theatres of Pakistan.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat has been mired in controversies all throughout the year of 2017. Post a lot of debate, the film is finally hitting the screens on January 24 at 7 pm. Now, according to our sources, the makers want the film to be screened in the theatres of Pakistan.
A source told us, "The makers of Padmaavat have submitted the application for NOC last week. The screening for the Censor Board was to take place on Monday which has been postponed to Tuesday."
The source also added, "Since there is so much controversy around the film, the Board will be major scrutiny and a lot will depend on portrayal of Allauddin Khilji's character in the film. They are awaiting the DCP of the film so that is can be screened for the Censor Board."
A senior distributor of Pakistan said, "The chance of Padmaavat getting cleared in Pakistan is quite bright only a few deletion here and there could make it easy for the film."
The film stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles. Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of Alauddin Khilji and Shahid will step into the shoes of Maharawal Ratan Singh. Deepika will be playing Padmini - the Rajput queen.
Talking about the film, the director of Padmaavat Sanjay Leela Bhansali said, "Padmaavat is a dream come true for me. I have always been fascinated by the stories of honour, valour and vigour of our great Rajput warriors that have been captured so beautifully in our literature and this movie is my homage to those glorious stories. I would also like to thank the entire film fraternity for supporting Viacom18 and Bhansali Productions through the entire production and pre-release phase and hope they like the film they so supported."
