HOT! Akshay Kumar's CONTROVERSIAL remark on Mallika Dua released through a mysteriously LEAKED VIDEO of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge
The unedited video carrying Akshay Kumar's remark was actually one from the show's first episode and Akshay's 'ring a bell' comment refers to the show's format where judges ring a silver and golden bell to appreciate an act.
Lots of articles have come out on Akshay Kumar’s insensitive remark on Mallika Dua on their reality show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, with both the comedienne and her father Vinod Dua deeming it unfit. Akshay had made the remark "Mallika ji aap bell bajaaiye, main aapko bajaata hoon" and has been trolled for it since the last few days. While Akshay is in Dubai currently to launch the music of Rajinikanth's film 2.0, until now he has maintained a studied silence on the topic. Mallika on the other hand has posted a blog on social media. But we have come to know that the unedited video carrying Akshay Kumar's remark was actually one from the show’s first episode! Akshay's 'ring a bell' comment refers to the show's format where judges ring a silver and golden bell to appreciate an act. But the leaked clip went viral on the Internet yesterday.
Says a trade source, "There have been mixed opinions from different sides as to why suddenly Akshay’s remark came up. Everyone knows he has a sense of humor and doesn’t really mean anything by them. Now this remark the actor had made in jest on the first episode of the show but at that time the line was edited out, as the channel and producers felt it could become controversial. And that is precisely what happened. Someone actually leaked the actual video (with the unedited version) a few days ago. Strangely, nobody knows who it was – neither the channel Star Plus nor the producers. It’s a mystery as to who would want to release the video now and put Akshay in the dock when he had said it more than a month ago. Why was the clip released now just when the judges Mallika, Zakir Khan and Hussain Dalal were replaced by familiar faces Sajid Khan and Shreyas Talpade, apparently to boost TRPs? The sagging TRPs of the show also may have needed a controversy to lift it up but all these are questions we will never know the answers to."
Mallika has been very upset about the remark made by the actor and had posted snapshots of an open letter, in which she has addressed the issue on social media, where she said she wanted to start a dialogue about etiquette at the workplace, where big shots often cannot differentiate between 'charm and harm'. When stories about her father and her deleting their posts on Facebook came out, Mallika had lashed out, saying, "Hey! Sorry to quash your hunger for sensationalism but Facebook and perhaps a copyright claim had it removed. Find something better to do."
We tried to contact Star Plus and Mallika for their versions but they remained unavailable for comment.
