HOT! Katrina Kaif’s SECRET meeting with Akshay Kumar! Was it to do with KESARI?
Whether Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif's meeting was just an informal catching up between two friends or a work-related one leading to a big announcement later is something only time will tell.
Katrina Kaif has been on a meeting spree with some of her co-stars. While on Sunday (October 29) afternoon, the paparazzi snapped her having lunch with her co-star Shah Rukh Khan at a suburban Mumbai restaurant, hardly anyone knows that last Saturday (October 28) she quietly dropped in to meet Akshay Kumar on the sets of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (TGILC), the reality show that he is shooting for. Both had last shot together in a film for Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan (2010).
Says a source from the sets of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, “Katrina had come to meet Aditya Chopra for Thugs Of Hindostan at YRF Studios, and after that dropped in to meet Akshay. Strangely while paps were there for her lunch with SRK, no photog was informed of her meeting with Akki. It was so hush-hush that she didn’t even visit the TGILC sets. Katrina chatted with him for almost half an hour and then left. Onlookers were discussing whether she had come to discuss Kesari with him.”
The source adds, “Recently there was news that Parineeti Chopra has been signed to play Akshay Kumar’s (Havildar Ishar Singh) wife in Anurag Singh’s film Kesari, based on the Battle of Saragarhi and produced by Karan Johar. But buzz is that things have not been smooth for the actress. The producers of Kesari were to announce her as the female lead opposite Akshay after Golmaal Again but her dates are still getting sorted. The actress was to begin shooting for Dibakar Banerjee’s thriller, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, opposite Arjun Kapoor in Lucknow from October, but the shoot has been postponed to November now. Her shoot for Vipul Shah’s Namaste Canada begins from February 2018 and ends in April, while Kesari is said to go on floor from January next year.”
Akshay and Katrina have been bonding a lot together in recent times. With Aaditya Thackeray they flagged off the 9th Akshay Kumar Kudo Tournament on Saturday and even danced together after years. A usually reserved Katrina was lavish in her praise for the actor, when she took to Instagram to share a picture of hers with Akshay and wrote, ‘Akshay... You were right. You take better pics than me... Finally a picture together after a longgggggg time... Love you Akshay Kumar.’
We had written about Katrina being approached by Karan and Akshay to play Akshay’s wife and we had heard that Parineeti had been very upset about the news and got her team to find out if Katrina has been approached or not. Akshay has always approached Katrina for most of his films including Singh Is Bling and Toilet… Ek Prem Katha but the actress had turned these films down for her own reasons. It’s a tough call for Katrina to sign Kesari, as it’s a project her Tiger Zinda Hai co-star Salman Khan had left due to personal reasons.
