An afternoon in Shah Rukh Khan's multi-storey Red Chillies office, for an interaction with Producer and Chief Operating Officer, Gaurav Verma.
On a Wednesday afternoon, we met Gaurav Verma, Producer and Chief Operating Officer, Red Chillies Entertainment, at the production house’ multi-storey building in Khar. The entrance up there takes us through the nostalgic trip with posters of Shah Rukh Khan blockbusters engraved on the walls of ground floor. As you start your journey towards the top floor, you go get a glimpse into the showreel of Shah Rukh Khan films, as if you are scrolling through his filmography. And it’s not over yet.
As you continue your ride towards the interview spot, you also get a glimpse at his achievements at global level – from awards to everything else. The office is a dream destination for cinema lovers, particularly Shah Rukh Khan fans, for whom, every corner is a photo spot. And finally, we proceed towards the interview spot, getting the set up in place and then enters Gaurav, calm and jovial, ready for an interaction. We settled down, and the conversation begun discussing the Covid impact on Hindi film industry, the magic of cinema halls, the slate of Red Chillies Entertainment including the Alia Bhatt starrer Darlings, the Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra and Vikrant Massey fronted Love Hostel and the Abhishek Bachchan thriller, Bob Biswas. He also confirmed the possibility of a Bard Of Blood sequel.

He also informed that multiple projects with Shah Rukh Khan in lead is in the work and one will get an official update on the same once “Mr Khan is ready to make an announcement.” Gaurav also addressed the plans for Red Chillies to venture into the distribution model and revealed how things have changed over the last few years in terms of showbiz. He also opened up about the inhouse creative team and the efforts put in by them to churn out new content. “We are open to all talent, we are accessible and want to invite more and more fresh and upcoming talent to create content with us, especially writers and directors amongst others. At Red Chillies we have put in place a robust creative team whose main focus is to develop scripts along with finding and nurturing the new talent. We have already worked with a great set of first time directors in our movies past and present which include, Kaamyaab, the upcoming Bob Biswas, Love Hostel and Darling and will continue to do so,” Gaurav said.
