Sidharth Malhotra CONFIRMS being a part of Kargil Martyr Captain Vikram Batra's biopic
Sidharth Malhotra to play Kargil Martyr Captain Vikram Batra in his biopic.
Sidharth Malhotra is currently riding high on success with his latest release Ittefaq which is performing well at the box office. The movie also stars Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna in pivotal roles and has already collected around INR 4.05 crore on Day 1.
While talking to Pinkvilla, Sidharth spoke about his upcoming projects and confirmed being a part of Kargil Martyr Captain Vikram Batra's biopic. "In the next two months, I have Aiyaary coming up alongside Manoj Bajpayee, who is a fabulous actor. Then there is Vikram Batra's biopic. So, there are two films and there is another one which will be announced soon. So I am pretty excited about the lineup," Sid said.
Earlier, a source had revealed to the daily, "He loves the script and feels that Vikram’s is a heroic story that needs to be told. Whatever happens, it will be him, who plays the role. He’s tight-lipped about the project for now, but he has given it the green signal."
As Sidharth's grandfather has an army background, "he understands the space and the emotions attached to it. He’s done his research on Batra and is raring to go," the source stated.
"Sidharth has been offered biopics, but he was keen on doing an inspirational story — and what better than one on Captain Vikram Batra’s life! Aiyaary is based on real incidents, but this will be a proper biography on screen — Sid’s first," the source added.
Reports also suggested that Sid will be seen in a double role in the biopic as Captain Batra had an identical twin brother, Vishal, which will be played by Sidharth as well.
