Michelle Trachtenberg was aware of health risks before her death as per her friend Amanda de Cadenet. Trachtenberg knew she was seriously ill and had been admitted to a hospital in the last few months before her death.

De Cadenet, a TV host and photographer, revealed on Instagram, "I will not share the details of our conversations over the last 6 months, but you knew that death was a high possibility and I am only sorry that the outcome was not a better one."

In her now-edited post, the photographer paid tribute to the Gossip Girl star in a tearful message. She also remembered a FaceTime call she received from Trachtenberg from a hospital bed some time ago, saying that though her looks had altered, her humor and warmth had not.

She wrote, "I will always remember you as the young vivacious woman I met when I took this photo of you … and seeing your face from the hospital bed when we FaceTimed recently, even though you did not look like you, your sweetness and humor were still alive."

Although de Cadenet refused to reveal details of their private talks during the last six months, she did confirm that Trachtenberg had realized the gravity of her health condition and the potential for a tragic end. She wished her friend peace and a peaceful passing.

Michelle Trachtenberg passed away in her New York City apartment Wednesday morning after cardiac arrest. She reportedly had had a liver transplant in the past year, and although the official cause of her death is yet to be revealed.
