Michelle Trachtenberg might have played mean girl Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl, but in real life, she was a sweetheart. Amid the actress’s tragic untimely death, here’s a look at her relationship with her Gossip Girl costars over the years.
In 2015, the EuroTrip actress reunited with some members of the cast at the Oscars after party. She posted a picture with Kelly Rutherford, Jessica Szohr, and Chance Crawford, who played Lily Van der Woodsen, Vanessa Abrams, and Nate Archibald in the show, respectively.
“So happy to see these beautiful people (inside and out) last night,” the late actress captioned her Instagram post at the time. Elsewhere, Trachtenberg cleared the air about the reported tiff between the lead actresses on set.
There were rumors that Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, who played besties on screen, did not get along in real life. Other sources claimed that the actresses were hated by their co-stars. However, Trachtenberg denied the speculations, saying they were all chill and cool with each other.
In 2019, she met Crawford on a random outing and posted a selfie of the pair with a Gossip Girl style caption. She did the same during her reunion with Meester at a mutual friend’s bachelorette party that same year.
“Spotted. Ms. Waldorf and Ms. Sparks. In the ballroom. With secrets. I’ll never tell. Xoxo,” the Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress wrote on her Instagram story with a picture of the duo. In February 2020, she revealed having dinner with Meester not too long ago, which is ironic given that Geogina and Blair were rivals on the show.
Speaking to US Weekly at the time, she also shared her thoughts on former co-star Badgley’s hit TV show You. Although she hadn’t seen the series, she had seen a meme about how her Gossip Girl character was the one who could take down the stalking murderer Joe Goldberg.
Georgina first appeared in the show’s first season as Serena Van der Woodesen’s (Lively) archnemisis. It was only a matter of time before the mean, scheming, and conniving character would become one of the most iconic characters on the show.
From pretending Dan Humphry (Penn Badgley) was her baby daddy to ruining Blair Waldorf’s (Meester) wedding to a Prince by releasing her love confession for Chuck (Ed Westwick), Georgina has brought the most drama on the show.
She even briefly revealed to be the scribe behind Upper East Side’s scandalous gossip girl blog. “I knew the 100th episode would end with a bang, but definitely didn’t expect that!” the Ice Princess actress told US Weekly at the time.
